An Overview of Lion Heart Behavioral Health Programs

At Lion Heart Behavioral Health, we offer a comprehensive range of programs designed to address the unique needs of each individual seeking recovery. Our goal is to provide a supportive, compassionate environment where clients can find healing, growth, and lasting transformation. We take a holistic approach to addiction and mental health treatment, combining evidence-based therapies, personalized care, and a team of dedicated professionals.

Addiction Treatment Program
We provide specialized treatment for individuals struggling with substance use disorders, including alcohol, opiates, and other drugs. Our programs focus on both the physical and emotional aspects of recovery, helping clients overcome cravings, manage withdrawal symptoms, and rebuild their lives.

Mental Health Therapy & Treatment Program
In addition to addiction treatment, we offer mental health services to address conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and other behavioral health challenges. Through individual and group therapy, we help clients understand the root causes of their struggles and develop effective coping strategies.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our partial hospitalization program—sometimes referred to as “day treatment”—provides a structured, intensive level of care for individuals who need more support than traditional outpatient services but do not require round-the-clock supervision. This program offers a comprehensive treatment plan that includes a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, and medical support, tailored to address the specific needs of each client. Our PHP allows individuals to receive high-quality care during the day while returning to their home or a sober living environment in the evening. It is ideal for individuals transitioning from inpatient care or those who need a higher level of support as they work toward recovery. Partial hospitalization is designed to help clients gain the skills and strategies needed to maintain sobriety, manage mental health challenges, and rebuild a strong foundation for lasting recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our IOP—sometimes referred to as “night treatment” or “half-day” treatment—provides a structured yet flexible treatment option for individuals seeking recovery from addiction and mental health challenges. Designed for those who do not require 24-hour supervision, our IOP offers a higher level of care than traditional outpatient therapy. Clients participate in regular therapy sessions, including individual counseling, group therapy, and skill-building workshops, while maintaining the ability to live at home or in a supportive community. This program is ideal for individuals who need more intensive support to address their recovery needs but can still manage daily responsibilities. At Lion Heart Behavioral Health, our IOP is tailored to help individuals build a strong foundation for lasting recovery, providing the tools and resources necessary for healing and growth.

Outpatient Program (OP)
Our outpatient program is flexible and allows individuals to receive treatment while continuing with their daily lives. Clients participate in therapy and counseling sessions, with the ability to live at home or in a sober living environment, making this an ideal option for those who need structured support but do not require residential care.

Therapy Services
We offer a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). These therapies are designed to help individuals address underlying issues, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and achieve lasting recovery.

At Lion Heart Behavioral Health, we are committed to helping you achieve a balanced, fulfilling life through our comprehensive and individualized treatment programs. No matter where you are in your recovery journey, we are here to support you every step of the way.

Nicole Hunter serves as Program Director with a leadership style rooted in authenticity, compassion, and lived experience. She has been in recovery from substance use for several years, and while recovery is the foundation of the life she has built, it is far more than something in her past—it continues to shape who she is, how she leads, and why she is so deeply passionate about helping others find their own path forward.

Nicole remembers what it felt like to walk into treatment, unsure of what life could look like on the other side. She also understands that recovery isn’t something we simply “graduate” from. Even years later, there are seasons when we need to reconnect with the tools, principles, and support that keep us grounded. Having experienced her own mental health challenges alongside recovery, she understands that healing is rarely one-dimensional. This perspective allows her to genuinely relate to individuals navigating both substance use and mental health, meeting them with empathy instead of judgment and hope instead of shame.

For Nicole, this work has never been just a career—it is deeply personal. Her passion comes from walking alongside people who are making one of the hardest and bravest decisions of their lives: choosing to rebuild. She believes there is something incredibly powerful about witnessing someone begin to believe in themselves again, often before they are able to see their own potential. Being trusted to share in that journey is something she never takes for granted.

Nicole believes every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued—not for who they might become someday, but for who they are the moment they walk through the door. No two clients are the same, and she is committed to ensuring treatment reflects the unique strengths, challenges, goals, and experiences of each individual. She believes healing happens through individualized care, genuine connection, and creating an environment where people feel safe enough to be honest and supported enough to grow.

Nicole’s clinical philosophy combines evidence-based practices with the belief that the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most powerful tools for change. Throughout her years working in behavioral health across a variety of clinical and leadership roles, she has developed a flexible, person-centered approach that meets individuals where they are while empowering them to discover where they are capable of going. She celebrates every step forward, knowing that meaningful progress is often made through small, consistent victories rather than dramatic breakthroughs.

Whether she is supporting clients or leading the multidisciplinary team at the program, Nicole lives by the principle of unconditional positive regard. She believes people grow when they feel respected, challenged, supported, and genuinely believed in. She strives to create a culture where clients and staff alike feel empowered to learn, take healthy risks, and recognize their own strengths.

Above all, Nicole believes that recovery is possible, healing is possible, and that every person deserves individualized care, unwavering respect, and the opportunity to build a life they are proud of. Her goal is simple: to help create a space where people feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to grow, and empowered enough to realize that lasting change is within reach.
